Nirvana tasked us with a special challenge: presenting the gods in a way that would appeal to younger viewers while shattering the conventional, aloof image of them. It is a privilege for us to have our artwork on display at the “Zhongyuan Remembrances” event by Nirvana Asia Group. 🙏✨

A lot of research has to be done beforehand for a 3D paper puppet constructed entirely of paper 📝before we can begin with sketch design, move on to computer 3D modeling, and finally compute and define the dieline. This short exhibition, which took almost two months to finish, was initially meant to “cutely” display the god’s statue while preserving its intricacies. Its purpose was to help everyone learn about the other side of tradition and have a fresh perspective on the occasion.

We hope everyone understands that the Hungry Ghost Festival is a cultural treasure that deserves respect and appreciation, rather than just something scary and gloomy. Who would have guessed the tradition could be so adorable?😇👻
